October 1, 2024 – Kingston, ON Integrated Care Hub (ICH) partners are working diligently to reopen the site with secure access to care and services in clean, fully functional facilities as soon as possible. We understand that the closure has had a significant impact on many individuals, and we are committed to keeping the community informed, including sharing a timeline for reopening, once established.
The site was vacated quickly and unexpectedly due to a police investigation which is now complete. While the ICH remains temporarily closed, we are actively addressing several key issues to ensure a safe reopening:
- Cleaning: As a result of being vacated quickly and vacant for some time, professional cleaning of the facility is required before we can reopen our doors.
- Pest remediation: A coordinated approach with the City of Kingston to address pests in and around the facility is underway.
- Site access: Planning is underway for managing client and service flow in accordance with our revised operational plans that incorporate the newly erected fencing around the site.
We are grateful to all of our staff; for those able to continue to deliver services, their flexibility in continuing to provide as much support as possible during our temporary closure has been impactful. From helping people retrieve their belongings to pivoting to an outreach model of service – their fortitude and commitment to clients have been commendable.
Thank you for your support and patience. We appreciate the support received from service providers, staff and community members throughout this process that will enable us to reopen soon, to provide the essential lifesaving and life-changing services we are proud to offer on-site at the ICH.
